Primer for polysilicate renders

Coloured product based on low-alkali polysilicates and copolymer binder intended for proper preparation of the substrate for NOVALIT T and NOVALIT T AKORD polysilicate renders. Suitabe for priming of all typical construction substrates outside buildings and reinforcing coats in KABE THERM RENO, KABE THERM AKORD, KABE THERM AVANT and KABE THERM MW* EWI systems and in NOVALIT RSA anti-cracking system. To be applied on mineral substrates (such as concrete, lime render, cement-lime render and cement render) and on substrates covered with well set and bound polymer-based coatings.

Packaging:Single-use plastic packaging of 5 and 10 l;
Storage:The product should be stored in its sealed packaging in a cool, but frost-protected room. Opened packaging should be tightly closed and used as quickly as possible;
Shelf life:Originally sealed products have a 12-month shelf life from the date of production (this is printed on the side of the packaging).

– Improves the top coat adhesion
– Reduces and equalises substrate water absorption
– Assures high vapour permeability
– Reduces the effect of substrate showing if it is coloured to the render colour
– Makes render application and texture modelling easier
– Features a very high adhesion to both mineral substrates and polymer coatings
– Limits the possibility of algae and fungi growth

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Apply to a sound/stable and clean substrate (without cracks and delaminations), degreased, even and dry, and biological or chemical efflorescence free.In case of algae/fungi growth, the substrate should be cleaned mechanically and then wash with water and disinfect with ALGIZID. Any loose layers not bound to the substrate (i.e. loose render or flaked coatings) should be removed. Old and/or dirty substrates should be washed off and degreased with water and CLEANFORCE cleaning agent. For uneven substrates, first use levelling compound and then level out the surface with finish levelling and smoothing compound. Small unevenness can be at once levelled out with finish levelling and smoothing compound. Use the above products according to their technical data sheets. Absorbent substrates should be primed before levelling compound and/or finish levelling and smoothing compound application. Please note: if product is applied on new mineral substrates (such as concrete, cement-lime render, cement render), 2-week curing period is required. Prior to the use of the product in KABE THERM RENO, KABE THERM AKORD, KABE THERM AVANT or KABE THERM MW EWI systems, all coats of systems should be applied in accordance with the External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems – ETICS. The product can be applied only when reinforcing coat is completely dry, i.e. after 3-4 days under normal conditions.

PRODUCT PREPARATION: The packaging contains a ready-to-use product. It cannot be diluted.

APPLICATION: The product to be applied on the substrate by using a paint brush or roller.

DRYING: Before applying render, the product used on the substrate requires seasoning of ca. 24 hours. Protect the newly made coating against precipitation and condensation until it sets completely.
USEFUL HINTS: The application and setting of product requires dry days and air temperature above +5°C. Low temperature and high humidity may lead to slower product setting. If this is the case, it is necessary to wait until the primer sets and hardens completely before applying the render. All tools should be cleaned with water after work is completed. Application during direct exposure to sunlight or in strong winds is not recommended. To protect unbound product against inclement weather conditions, scaffolding should be covered with some protective netting.
