Lazure paint for performing special decorative effects

Modern, based on water acrylic dispersion paint intended for performance of decorative, glaze (not fully covering) paint coatings inside and outside the buildings, including KABE THERM EWI systems. It is used to make the wood/board effect, architectural concrete effect and aged brick effect. Especially recommended for emphasizing the decorative surface texture. It allows for unlimited possibilities of shaping individual decorations adjusted to specific interior in terms of colour scheme and style. It allows for the performance of coatings with various paint effects inspired with the decorator’s imagination and skills. It is used for performing decorative finish coats in rooms of public utility premises (such as hotels, shops, restaurants, offices and conference rooms) as well as in representation residential rooms (such as living rooms).

It is especially recommended for painting rough surfaces of attractive texture (such as thin coat renders of modelled or smooth texture). Intended for both mineral substrates (such as traditional cement plasters, cement-lime plasters and thin coat mineral renders) and those covered with well set and bound polymer-based coats.

Before the application of lazure paint, the substrate should be painted once with PROLATEX or AKRYLATEX W (inside) and AKRYLATEX or ARMASIL F (outside).

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Apply to a sound/stable and clean substrate (without cracks and delaminations), degreased, dry, and free of biological contamination or chemical efflorescence. In the case of fungal growth, the substrate should be mechanically cleaned and then disinfect with an indoor fungicide. Discolourations, nicotine stains and efflorescences caused by water stains should be painted first with MILAMAT stain blocker. Any loose layers not bound to the substrate (i.e. loose render or flaked coatings) should be removed. The remnants of adhesive or lime paints should be thoroughly removed and the substrate washed with water. Old and/or dirty substrates should be washed off and degreased with water and CLEANFORCE cleaning agent. For uneven substrates, first use KOMBI FINISZ levelling compound and then level the surface with PROFINISZ ready-to-use finishing compound. Small unevenness can be levelled out at once with PROFINISZ ready-to-use finishing compound. Absorbent substrates should be primed with BUDOGRUNT WG before levelling compounds application. Fresh cement plasters and cement-lime plasters may be painted after 3-4 weeks of curing period, gypsum plasters after 2 weeks, while the so-called drywall construction can be painted directly after polishing and dust removing.

PRIMING: Before the paint application, the substrate should be painted once with PROLATEX or AKRYLATEX W or AKRYLATEX or ARMASIL F (white colour is most often applied). Typical drying time ca. 3 h (20°C, 55% RH). When base
paint applied on the substrate is completely dry, lazure paint may be applied.

PAINT PREPARATION: The packaging contains a ready-to-use product. If necessary, the paint may be diluted with a small amount of water (by adding max. 5% of volume). Quantity of added water may vary depending on the substrate type, drying conditions and application method. The paint should be thoroughly mixed directly before use.

APPLICATION: Depending on the assumed decorative effect, paint may be applied on the substrate in one or two layers with the use of various painting tools (such as brush, roller, sponge, pad, cloth, paint glove or by means of spraying). Another layer of paint should be applied after the first one dries. As necessary, the subsequent paint coatings may differ with colour and application technique. The fresh lazure paint coating is easy to process and the final effect depends only on the skills and imagination of the contractor.

DRYING: Typical drying time of a single layer of paint applied to the substrate lasts approx. 3 h (20°C, 55% RH). Note: Coat setting time may be longer due to low temperatures and high relative humidity. After painting, closed rooms should be aired until the specific smell disappears. The coating obtains its full mechanical and functional properties after 4 weeks.

USEFUL HINTS: To avoid colour differences, a single batch product should be used on a single application / architectural element. Application and drying of the paint requires air temperature above +5°C. All tools to be cleaned with water after finishing work.
