Ready-to-use cement-free base coat for making a reinforcing coat with fibreglass mesh in a KABE THERM ELASTO* EWI system. The dispersion base coat improves impact resistance and there is no necessity to prime before applying Farby KABE renders. It is used in the technology of a complex thermal insulation system for external walls of buildings ETICS .

Base binder:acrylic dispersion;
Colours:cream (there is a possibility of tinting under the colour of the grout in the BRICK DECOR system);
Consumption:as a base coat for systems with one layer of reinforcing mesh approx. 4,0 kg/m2
Temperature of application (air and substrate):from +10°C to +25°C
Relative humidity:≤ 75%
Packaging:Single-use plastic packaging of 20 kg.
Shelf life and storage:12 months from the date of production, store in a tightly closed packaging, in a cool room, but protected from frost.

• High resistance to mechanical damage (Impact resistance)
• Very good flexibility and scratches resistance
• No runoff from the vertical surface
• High adhesion to EPS
• Easy to apply
• No primer needed under render
• Contains microfibres

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: The substrate for the reinforcing coat (fixed EPS boards) must be sound/stable, dedusted, even and free of anti-adhesive substances. The substrate must be protected against capillary action and leakage of water coming from atmospheric precipitation. Any loose layers not bound to the substrate should be removed. All EWI system coats should be made in accordance with the technology of a complex thermal insulation system for external walls of buildings ETICS.
PRODUCT PREPARATION: Directly before appling mix thoroughly, if necessary dilute with water (using a maximum of 0.2 liters per 20 kg).
REINFORCING COAT APPLICATION: First the edges of window and door openings should be reinforced by means of fixing to their corners diagonally running (i.e., at an angle of 45°) fibreglass mesh (with the dimensions of 25 x 30 cm) by using KOMBI ELASTO base coat. The reinforcing coat (base coat + reinforcing mesh) must be applied on even, clean and previously sanded surfaces of EPS boards, not earlier than 3 days from the date of board installation. Apply a continuous and even layer of the base coat onto the substrate using a notched trowel with a notch size 6÷8 mm as width as the reinforcing mesh is. Then immerse fibreglass reinforcing mesh into the applied layer of mass. The reinforcing mesh should be evenly stretched and completely immersed in the base coat. If necessary, in order to make the surface more even, an additional thin layer of base coat can be applied. The neighbouring mesh stripes must overlap not less than 10 cm. Any trowel marks should be sanded down with a sandpaper. The thickness of the reinforcing coat should be 3-5 mm.
DRYING: The drying time for the reinforcing coat is min. 3 days (with temperature +20°C, 65% RH). Until the mass harden, protect the layer against atmospheric precipitation and moisture condensation. Note: Drying time may be longer by even up to a few days due to low temperatures and high relative humidity.
USEFUL HINTS: In order to avoid cracks and unevenness, it is necessary to complete a single application to any architectural element in one working cycle. The base coat should be applied on dry days at temperatures between 10 and 25°C. All tools must be cleaned with water after finishing work. Avoid working on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight, in strong winds or at a high air humidity. To protect a still wet reinforcing coat against inclement weather conditions, scaffolding should be covered with some protective netting or tarpaulins. In the period of increased humidity, it is early spring and late autumn, it is recommended to use the KOMBI mineral base coat. Do not use on surfaces not protected against capillary rising and exposed to constant water and precipitation.
