MOZAIKER AKORD COLORATO render is two-component composition based on acrylic resins and coloured quartz aggregate with a grain size ranging 0.2÷ 0.8 mm and an optional addition of mica (depending on the selected melange). The binder is supplied in a tightly closed container with throughly measured portions of aggregate in the colours conforming to the Manufacturer’s catalogue. The render is formed by mixing selected aggregates with binder and the optional addition of mica in appropriate proportions according to the recipe provided. MOZAIKER AKORD COLORATO render is used for spray application of thin top coats inside and outside buildings, also in the KABE THERM MARMURIT COLORATO / MOZAIKER COLORATO* EWI system based on EPS. It is especially recommended for the decorative finishing of walls in rooms of heavy traffic (such as staircases, entrance halls, corridors and passageways), as well as architectural elements to be found on the facades of buildings (i.e. pedestals, pilasters, cornices). To be applied on mineral substrates (i.e. concrete, cement render, cement-lime render) and on substrates covered with well set polymer-based coatings. Prior to render application, the substrate should be primed with MARMURIT GT primer coloured to match the mosaic blend, while on absorbent substrates additionally with BODOGRUNT ZG or BUDOGRUNT WG primers.

Note: Because of the product specificity, it is not recommended to apply it on surfaces exposed to long-term and direct exposure to water.

Note: Prior to composing a blend, check the numbers of particular aggregate batches / B component. Do not mix aggregate batches with different numbers intended for application on the same surface (if mixing cannot be avoided, premix them to make them look the same)!

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Apply to a sound/stable and clean substrate (without cracks and delaminations), degreased, even and dry, and biological or chemical efflorescence free. In case of algae/fungi growth, the substrate should be cleaned mechanically and then rinse with water and disinfect with ALGIZID preparation. Any loose layers not bound to the substrate (i.e. loose render or flaked coatings) should be removed. Old and/or dirty substrates should be washed off and degreased with water and CLEANFORCE cleaning agent. If there is any large unevenness to the substrate (from 5 to 15 mm), level the wall with a levelling compound, and then apply the whole surface with KOMBI or KOMBI HYDRO STOP base coat . Minor unevenness (up to 5 mm) can be made even at once and smoothened with KOMBI or KOMBI HYDRO STOP base coat mortar. Absorbent substrates should be primed with BUDOGRUNT ZG / BUDOGRUNT WG before levelling compounds application. Fresh concrete substrates, cement renders and cement-lime renders may be rendered only after a 4 weeks of curing, plasters after 2 weeks, while drywall systems directly after grinding and dedusting. Before applying the render in the KABE THERM MARMURIT COLORATO / MOZAIKER COLORATO thermal insulation system, the all coats of EWI system should be made in accordance with the technology of the composite thermal insulation system for external walls of ETiCS buildings. Mosaic render can be applied to the primed surface only after the reinforcing coat has completely dried, which normally takes place after 3-4 days.
PRIMING: On the substrates with high absorbency, it is necessary to apply BUDOGRUNT ZG primer (outside) or BUDOGRUNT WG primer (inside) prior to application. Prior to applying the render, the substrate should be primed with
MARMURIT GT primer pre-coloured to match the mosaic colour. Primer should be dry before applying a finish coat , curing period lasts about 24 hours.
PRODUCT PREPARATION: The packaging contains a ready-to-use product. Before application, the product should be thoroughly mixed with a low-speed mixer fitted with a basket stirrer, for 30 to 60 seconds, until a smooth, homogeneous consistency is obtained. Further mixing is not recommended as it may result in durable deterioration of the product aesthetics.
APPLICATION METHOD: Mosaic render should be applied onto the substrate in a thin, even layer by using a pneumatic spraying device at a working pressure of 3÷4 atm. and a nozzle diameter of 5÷6 mm. The gun during spraying
should be moved perpendicularly to the substrate at a distance ranging from 0.4 to 0.6 m. The layer applied should be even and cover completely the substrate free from indentations or protrusions. Note: If the applied layer of render is too thin, it may lead to formation of cracks on the surface what has a negative impact on its aesthetics and durability.
DRYING: Typical drying time for the render ca. 24 h (20°C, 55% RH). The drying time can be longer by a few days due to low temperatures and high relative humidity. Note: To assist the drying of the finish coat, the surface should be
protected against precipitation and condensation.
USEFUL HINTS: The final effect may depend on the substrate type. For non-uniform substrates, it is recommended to apply at first the whole surface with KOMBI or KOMBI HYDRO STOP base coat. To avoid colour differences, a single batch aggregate should be used on a single application / architectural element. ‘Wet on wet’ method should be used. All tools should be cleaned with water after work is completed. To be applied on dry days at temperatures between 5-25°C. Avoid applying in direct sunlight or during strong winds. To protect the still wet top coat against inclement weather conditions, scaffolding should be covered with a protective netting or tarpaulins.
