Used for manual application of thin top coats inside and outside buildings including KABE THERM MARMURIT / MOZAIKER EWI system based on EPS. It is especially recommended for the decorative finishing of external walls and in rooms of heavy traffic (such as staircases, entrance halls, corridors and passageways). To be applied on mineral substrates (i.e. concrete, cement render, cement-lime render) and on substrates covered with well set polymer-based coatings. Before applying the render the substrate has to be primed with MARMURIT GT, while absorbent substrates also with BUDOGRUNT ZG or BUDOGRUNT WG. Note: Because of the product specificity, it is not recommended for applying on horizontal surfaces exposed to a long-term and direct exposure to water and precipitation such as swimming pools, wading pools or uncovered fencing walls.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Apply to a sound/stable and clean substrate (without cracks and delaminations), degreased, even and dry, and biological or chemical efflorescence free. In case of algae/fungi growth, the substrate should
be cleaned mechanically and then wash with water and disinfect with ALGIZID. Any loose layers not bound to the substrate (i.e. loose render or flaked coatings) should be removed. Old and/or dirty substrates should be washed off
and degreased with water and CLEANFORCE cleaning agent. If there is any large unevenness to the substrate (from 5 to 15 mm), use levelling compound and then apply the whole surface with KOMBI or KOMBI HYDRO STOP base coat.
Minor unevenness (up to 5 mm) can be levelled out at once and smoothened with KOMBI or KOMBI HYDRO STOP base coat. Absorbent substrates should be primed with BUDOGRUNT ZG / BUDOGRUNT WG before levelling compounds
application. Fresh concrete substrates, cement renders and cement-lime renders may be rendered only after a 4 weeks of curing, gypsum renders after 2 weeks, while drywall systems directly after grinding and dedusting. Prior to using
render in KABE THERM MARMURIT/MOZAIKER EWI system, all coats of EWI system should be applied in accordance with the requirements for external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). The mosaic render can be applied onto
a primed surface only when reinforcing coat is completely dry, i.e. after 3÷4 days under normal conditions.
PRIMING: On the substrates which feature high absorbency, it is necessary to apply BUDOGRUNT ZG primer (outside) or BUDOGRUNT WG primer (inside) prior to application. The substrate should be primed with MARMURIT GT coloured
primer before applying the render. Primer should be dry before applying a finish coat, curing period lasts about 24 hours. To reduce the risk of the substrate colour showing through the top coat, it is recommended to use a primer that
is of the same colour as the melange mosaic render.
PRODUCT PREPARATION: The packaging contains a ready-to-use product. Before application, the product should be thoroughly mixed with a low-speed mixer fitted with a clean stirrer made of stainless steel until homogeneous
consistency is obtained. The mixing time should not exceed 1 minute.
Note: Too long and too intensive mixing is not recommended, as it may result in grinding large mica flakes and permanent deterioration of the renders aesthetics.
APPLICATION METHOD: Mosaic render should be applied onto the substrate in a thin, levelled layer (from the bottom to the top) at a thickness of 2 ÷ 3 mm, with the use of a stainless steel trowel. After initial drying, the product applied
to the substrate should be rub with a plastic trowel. Using a stainless steel trowel smooth the applied render after drying. The layer applied to be even and cover the substrate completely without any hollows or bulges. Note: If the applied
layer of render is too thin, it may lead to formation of cracks on the surface what has a negative impact on its aesthetics and durability.
In order to reduce the risk of abrasions and increase the render’s resistance to atmospheric conditions, we recommend applying the render in two thin layers. The second layer should be applied after the first layer is dry. After initial drying,
the product applied to the substrate should be rub with a plastic trowel. Using a stainless steel trowel smooth the applied render after drying. The layer applied to be even and cover the substrate completely without any hollows or bulges.
DRYING: Typical drying time ca. 24 h (20°C, 55% RH). Note: Drying time may be longer, even up to a few days due to low temperatures and high relative humidity. To assist the drying of the finish coat, the surface should be protected against
precipitation and condensation, until the render is completely hardened. In order to increase render resistance to atmosphericl conditions, it is recommended completely dry render cover with MARCHRON impregnat.
USEFUL HINTS: The final effect may depend on the substrate type. For non-uniform substrates, it is recommended to apply at first the whole surface with KOMBI or KOMBI HYDRO STOP base coat. To avoid colour differences, a single
batch product should be used on a single application / architectural element. ‘Wet on wet’ method should be used. The render contains mica flakes which, due to their natural origin, may vary in size and shape. All tools should be cleaned
with water after work is completed. To be applied on dry days at temperatures between 5-25°C. Avoid applying in direct sunlight or during strong winds. To protect the still wet top coat against inclement weather conditions, scaffolding
should be covered with a protective netting or tarpaulins.
